Dr. Seuss Day

The time of year has come again where Ayagina'ar Elitnaurvik celebrates Dr. Seuss Day, along with the Read Across America Week.

This has become a yearly tradition at the school and this year's celebration was full of fun and teamwork.

We started the day with a reading of "The Cat in the Hat" by our own Paul Lomax.  He did an amazing job bringing the story to life for our students.

Next, the whole school came together and participated in a giant STEM activity - pairing younger students with older, everyone broke out into teams and created basketball stands.  The Challenge:  Create a stand that can hold a basketball AND go as high as possible.  All of our students worked hard and several created some amazing basketball stands!

Lastly, classes were paired together and participated in fun Seuss activities that worked with math, writing, art, and of course, reading the classic Seuss books.

Everyone left with a smile and we cannot wait to see what fun activities will happen next year for Dr. Seuss Day!
